In Herr Merkatz we trust
*salutes* (nice scp name and profile pic)
i really liked all of Yang's subordinates trustes Merkatz without a single nay. Trully shows a bond between superior and subordinate that transcends distant and place
Indeed
In Explosions We Trust!
In Megumin's Explosions We Really Trust!
Just announced! Konosuba season 3 is a go! Explosion!!!
This whole episode featured the Empire destroying itself. Imperial defectors Admiral Merkatz and the Rosenritter absolutely smashed their former comrades.
The Rosen Ritter is formed by exiles that were raised in the Republic, so they never served in Imperial Navy.
i really liked how restrained to achieving victory Admiral Merkatz had, another admiral would have wanted to completely destroy the enemy forces, he trully took a page out from the art of war were: do not corner an enemy, let the enemy have a chance to escape because an enemy who has nothing to loose will fight ferociously and deal twice much damage to your forces (I'm paraphrasing here)
Kempf is doing all the wrong steps there. While separating some unit maybe bad. In the battles between Space Fortress, there is no one hit kill move.
He should hedge the bet on capturing Yang rather than hoping he can win the battle when he already lost the fleet number advantage at that point.
Yeah and to top it off, he's intentionally sending back wrong information to command
Yup. Signs of commander F up everything. THe moment u fake info to ur HQ. U know u have F it up
yes basically they lost their initial chance, now it's defeat time =)
Yup. In battle on taking over fortress/base, defender advantage exist. The fact that Empire/Kempf side launch with equal fleet and now they have lost more fleet from this attack, puts their numbers behind Alliance Fleet number. That alone should have been easy to understand for Kempf that it is more or less impossible now to take over Iserlohn.
U can just put some small fleet in hope to capture Yang while playing more defensively.
There is also 0 shame in retreating if u failed there rather than throwing everything u have and not only gaining nothing but u end up losign everything.
That may be true but knowing Yang and his genius, a small force wouldn't be possible to capture him. They would have to divert a large force to capture him which would alert the Alliance that they know Yang isn't isn't there. So either way they lose.
Boys No other Comments after this one but the Following: In Admiral Merkatz We Trust (Credits to @Archie Andrew's 1000)
If you analyze Merkatz's character design, then you'll notice that he resembles Charles Bronson.
Based
Yeah not in this remake - he looks more like Lee van Cleef here.
The comparison of Merkatz to Bronson only applies to the original version.
I don't really see the Empire's next move here. Kempf is obviously in over his head and to make a bad situation worse, he's intentionally sending back bad information to command because he doesn't want to lose face. Maybe they can crash the attacking fortress into the other one, kill both sides and call it a draw? I dunno.
Well actually if you think about it crashing the fortress into the other and wiping them both out would be a victory - given the empire is the only side we know of capable of developing these gigantic fortresses- not to mention the capability of moving them into position.
To add ontop of that, in ep 9 it was stated that if the alliance lose their fortress guess who has an able navy that wasnt almost fucked in the ass during the last pointless invasion? The empire ofcourse.
Exactly!
Next week's finale episode is gonna be so brutal.
Rosen Ritter were disappointed with routing the enemy after wiping out over 60% of their landing forces lol...they're looking even more OP than in the original...also Merkatz is a fricken beast.
They can fight enemy 10 times their number. (1 against 10 and more if have formation and give them time)
But they are human with two legs, not a tank or spaceship.
So their movement are limited. (Also enemy will not stand idle to be cut)
How big are those battlesuits? Blood was squirting out them them like they were skin tight. Are they mecha size where the pilot sits in a cockpit or more like a ironman suit?
More like an ironman suit. In the original they were literally just skin tight armored suits with meshed areas at joints and a helmet. One thing this remake, naturally, does really well is making the tech more advanced and futuristic.
In September, we will get another serious of movies.
rosenritters massacred the enemy troops, dudes were out for blood. merkatz was a G. kempff going down the wrong road. who the hell was smashing some pu$$y at the end?
it was reunthal
i thought so, that pretty boy
oh god that woman. I forgot about her effects on Reunthal lol
Admiral Merkatz remain my favourite character from the old Imperial Navy....be it this series or the OG, the man is a legend
Merkatz came in with the clutch.
In Merkatz we Trust
there hasn't been a single boring episode in this whole show
Yup, be it politic or battlefield, this what makes the series a masterpiece
The Empire was so close to victory.
So close but failed, now they must "Strikes Back" lol
Then afterward we will have "Return of the Yang"
Right XD
Sigh...The Imperial side has too many incompetent generals...
You can't really call this incompetence for this situation. Müller was seen through in what he was about to do because his opponent was Merkatz, while Kempf, normally a good commander, has lost his cool because of just how much is on the line in this fight, and isn't rational anymore.
Blinded by ambition.
Or pride
Yeah, a combination of both in all likelyhood.
True
